Got Writer’s Block?
If you need to write on a regular basis, whether that be for new content for your membership site, blog, articles, or books it can be a challenge to come up with new ideas. The mistake many of you make is not looking at other content which can trigger inspiration.
One of the best ways to get inspired is to subscribe to a number of blogs in your niche. But instead of trying to remember to keep checking a variety of websites you should use something like Google Reader. You enter the URL of each blog’s RSS feed and then all the blog posts will show up in Google Reader and will always be current (with fresh new posts). Here’s a video on what Google Reader is:
You can also create Google Alerts so that Google sends you an email whenever there are posts, articles, news, etc about your chosen keywords. You can filter this by website, blog, video, news, and groups.
Another idea is to use Google News to get current news in your niche. Once you search for a specific news topic, you can create an email alert or get the RSS feed to add to your Google reader.
You can get some inspiration from Ezine Articles which is a collection of articles in various niches. You can even republish the article on your site as long as you give credit to them, which is even quicker than writing your own content.
A newer idea is to use Twitter Search. You can see what people are talking about in real time which is incredible. Many people will post links to interesting articles, videos and blog posts which you can have a look at. Seeing what people are talking about can also give you ideas for new content.
All four ideas will also keep you up to date and educated in your niche which is very important. Now you have no excuses to have fresh, interesting content in your membership site or other sites! If you have other ideas please post them below for all to share.
