If you’re thinking of spending thousands of dollars to have a IT firm/person do your website, I suggest you think about doing it yourself. It’s pretty easy these days! Either way, be sure to have them install a Content Management System like Wordpress (free) so that you can make your own web page edits via the browser. That way you don’t have to call them (and pay) every time you need a change.
Wordpress (and other applications) is available with GoDaddy.com without uploading code to the server and creating databases (ie. the manual method) which is great. I install Wordpress in the root directory (not /wordpress). Here’s a great video explaining how to get Wordpress up and running. Before you do this you need to purchase a hosting plan (Linux is preferred as it comes with many more available applications).

For hosting plans I choose linux operating system(versus windows) since you get way more applications available. I buy the domain name and hosting plan together because you will get the domain for $1.99 if you do that. Wordpress is a ‘one-click’ install (via GoDaddy Hosting Connection) but you have to enter some information like username/password (for accessing the Wordpress admin pages) and username/password for the database (where Wordpress stores your content).
